The story of the valley is best told by the hermit Pellerion. Seek him in the light forest south of the Eastern Road and west of the River of Bruenor's Woe.

Success in the valley requires caution. Your group must solve several puzzles to reforge the Spear, but none of these puzzles requires that you make haphazard guesses. If a solution is not fairly obvious, you probably have not seen the clues. Guessing often costs you your life.

Unless you are a skilled mudder, you might want to wait until you're higher than the recommended level to try the valley.
